Buying from abroad should not mean taking a leap of faith.

Live video viewings, documents explained in plain language, and updates until handover — wherever you live.

How it works

Buy property in Cameroon from abroad, one clear step at a time

Buying property in Cameroon from abroad usually goes wrong for one reason: you have to trust someone you can’t watch. The Diaspora Desk is built so you can see, ask and check at every step — from London, Paris, Brussels, Houston, Montreal or anywhere else.

WhatsApp the Diaspora Desk
  1. Tell us what you want

Budget, city, type, timeframe — and what matters most to you.

  2. We shortlist and show you by live video

Booked in your time zone. Ask us to walk the boundary, open the taps, film the road.

  3. We share the documents and explain them

Title, mandate, permits — in plain English or French, with what each one proves.

  4. You decide, with legal guidance

Use your own lawyer or notary, or ask us to introduce one. You stay in control.

  5. We keep you updated until handover

Dated photos, video and messages, so you always know where things stand.

Live video viewings

See the property in real time, not edited clips. You direct the camera.

Your time zone

Tell us when suits you — evenings and weekends in Europe or North America included.

No pressure to pay

We never ask you to send money to a personal account. Payments go through the notary.

Questions from buyers abroad

Do I need to travel to Cameroon to buy property?

Not always. Many diaspora buyers complete a purchase by giving a trusted person a power of attorney (procuration) to sign on their behalf. Your notary will tell you exactly what is needed for your purchase and how the document must be certified where you live.

How are documents handled if I'm abroad?

We share scans of the documents for your review and explain what each proves. Originals stay with the owner or notary. Your own lawyer or notary should confirm the title at the land registry before you sign.

How do I pay safely from abroad?

Pay only into accounts named in a signed agreement — normally through the notary handling the sale — and keep proof of every transfer. Never pay an individual on request, and never pay before you have seen the documents.

Which currency will I pay in?

Property in Cameroon is usually priced in CFA francs (FCFA, XAF). The CFA franc is pegged to the euro, which makes euro transfers predictable; transfers from other currencies depend on your bank’s exchange rate and fees.

Is the Diaspora Desk a separate fee?

Ask us — we’ll confirm any fees in writing before we start, so there are no surprises.
